Fiesta with us this Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. We’ll be celebrating this weekend with music on Saturday and drink specials all weekend long. Come out and join us for a great time, great food and great drinks! Some of our favorite Hispanic-inspired menu items are our Chipotle Chicken Quesadillas, Pulled Pork Tacos, Chips and Queso, and of course our ever-so-popular Red Wine Sangria!

Introducing: New Belgium Brewery

There’s a new kid on the block, and no it’s not a middle-aged man trying to get his singing career back. Did you know the New Kids on the Block are still touring?

But we digress.

Portico is now offering two new beers from New Belgium Brewery: Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat. Both drinks are great for cooling off from the heat of the upcoming spring and summer. Our friends at New Belgium have hooked us up with Bomber bottles, which means you get 22 ounces of this delicious brew!

Fat Tire is a perfectly balanced amber ale that’s great for drinking with friends or sipping with your favorite Portico burger or steak. If you like Abita Amber or Shiner Bock, you’ll thoroughly enjoy a tall glass of Fat Tire. It’s malty with a perfect balance of hops, and a crisp sweetness that is sure to please the pallet.

Sunshine Wheat is a filtered wheat beer that is great for cooling off after a hot day. Because it’s filtered, it has a lighter body than most unfiltered wheat beers (think Blue Moon), making it a great thirst quencher. Sunshine Wheat has a light citrus flavor that pairs well with fish and chicken dishes, like our Mahi Sandwich or the Chicken Skewers.

We only have the Bomber Bottles right now, but on May 20, we’ll have your favorite New Belgium selections on tap! But you don’t have to wait until then to come see us. Stop in this week to try out the new brews.

Portico Presents: The Apple Melon Martini

In today’s episode of Portico Presents, Jeremy, bartender at Portico Ruston, shows you how to make the Apple Melon Martini.

The Apple Melon Martini

Ingredients:

2 oz. apple vodka
2 tbs. watermelon
2 tbs. apple syrup
Squeeze of lime

Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.

Be sure to try an Apple Melon Martini the next time you’re at Portico in Monroe, Baton Rouge, or Ruston!

With St. Patty’s Day in sight, PORTICO has GREEN on it’s mind! With a variety of drink specials, you’re sure to get lucky! Green Beer will be on tap at all 3 locations, and crawfish will be served in Baton Rouge. We’ll have LIVE MUSIC throughout the evening, so keep your eyes posted for updates on music schedules throughout the day.

Enjoy our modern interpretations of classic southern cuisine with menu favorites like:

Low Country Shrimp. Jumbo shrimp sautéed in a light cream sauce with bacon, garlic and green onions served over your choice of creamy cheese grits or twice baked mashed potatoes, and a side item.
The Filet. An 8oz. center cut, choice filet, lightly seasoned, grilled to order. The filet comes with two side items.
